For the well-being of the children and to keep our gym enjoyable for everyone, families and solo climbers alike, we ask that:
Children under 14 must be actively supervised by an adult at all times
Active supervision requires at least 1 adult for every 2 children
Adults should stay engaged and nearby, especially in climbing areas
We love seeing kids discover climbing, and we appreciate your help in creating a respectful, shared space for all.
In addition to our expansive bouldering terrain, we offer two adjustable training boards (Kilter & Tension 2), a fitness area with weights and cardio equipment, and a dedicated youth climbing zone.
You’ll also find showers, a changing room, and a retail shop stocked with climbing essentials, apparel, and snacks. Lockers are available - they are complimentary to use for the day with your own lock or available for weekly or monthly rental with a small fee, just ask at the front desk.
No reservation needed! We offer open climbing during all gym hours, so feel free to drop in whenever works for you. We recommend checking our event schedule before your visit.
Bouldering is awesome for all ages and we love seeing little ones get their first taste of climbing! We welcome climbers of any age, and we even offer rental shoes that fit most 2–3 year olds. Kids under 14 must be actively supervised by an adult (see our Child Supervision Policy FAQ) to support well-being and a great experience for everyone.
Wear comfortable clothes that let you move freely such as athletic wear or anything you’d feel good stretching in. All climbers must wear climbing shoes. If you're renting a pair, we recommend bringing socks, but they may be worn without socks.
Nope, spectators are welcome at no charge! However, for safety and liability reasons, everyone entering the gym must sign a waiver, even if you’re not climbing or using equipment.
Big Island Bouldering is a bouldering-only gym. Bouldering is a style of climbing done at lower heights over thick padding, no ropes or harnesses required. It’s accessible, social, and great for all experience levels.
We offer 7,000 sq ft of bouldering walls, ranging from 8 to 16 feet high. Routes span beginner to expert, with fresh challenges for every climber. Whether you're brand new or chasing your next project, we've got something for you.
Events, Camps & One-Time Classes:
14+ days before: Full refund (minus 7% processing fee) or 100% account credit
8–13 days before: Account credit only
7 days or less: No refunds, credits, or make-ups
Missed classes/events: No refunds or make-ups for individual missed sessions
Monthly Youth Programs (Club & Team):
Cancel before the 1st of the month to avoid charges for the upcoming month
